When: Through midnight Dec. 27.
Acceptable photos: Send us a photo of your whole yard and house. Please do not send in panoramic or multiple photos.
We will ask for your home address to include in a “holiday map of lights” (no personal information will be published) so readers enamored with your display can go see it for themselves.
Two winning photos will be published Jan. 1 in the Life section and at ocregister.com/life.
How we pick the winners: There will be two winners, one chosen by online voting (you may vote up to 10 times per minute) and the other by our in-house judges. No automated voting is allowed. If we suspect cheating, the entry will be disqualified.
Rules: Only photos of homes located in Orange County, Calif., can be submitted and are eligible to win. You must have permission from the homeowner to enter a photo of their home to the contest. Renters should contact the homeowner for permission before entering this contest.
Participants who have won a Register contest within the past 60 days, and winners of the 2009 Holiday Lights contest, are not eligible to win. Submitters to the contests must be 18 or older.
Prizes: Each winner will receive a keepsake package from Vistaprint worth $150, including:
•A 26-page, hardbound photo book
•An 11-by-8.5-inch photo wall calendar
•A photo flip book
•10 holiday or thank you cards
